Former Google executive and Android creator Andy Rubin has finally given the public a glimpse into his world at Essential Products. Rubin’s new enterprise has teased some details about two future products: the Essential Phone and Essential Home. Rubin and company believe these products will revolutionize the mobile industry, but will the marketplace agree with him?

The few unveiled features are definitely impressive. The Android creator has packed the Essential Phone with many futuristic characteristics including a screen that measures six inches wide. The phone runs on an 835 processor and comes complete with a titanium body design. Rubin looks for a cutting-edge camera design as the Essential is equipped with an eight-megapixel sensor on the front and a 13-megapixel sensor on the back. All this comes with a price tag of $699.

Rubin has taken aim at the Amazon Echo with his new Essential Home product. Home comes with a screen that displays important information acting as a search engine. It is one of the first home assistant products to actually feature a screen. Like its rivals though, Home is set up for voice commands. Rubin has yet to confirm a price for this device, but customers are assured a rewarding investment.

Can Essential Products Compete With Apple?

The past few years have been a wild ride for the co-founder of both Danger Inc and Android Inc. After joining Google in 2005, Rubin took control of the company’s mobile and digital content.  He then shifted his focus to an innovative robotics division within the organization. He now leads Essential Products with the hope of becoming the hottest name in technology.

The Essential Phone is now available to pre-order. Rubin plans to sell the device exclusively in America with international sales a definite possibility in the future. The hope for customers is that Rubin has applied his wealth of knowledge from his days with Android and Google to create the ultimate mobile experience.
